Summer of Heroes
A campaign to invite families to watch more games, more goals and more heroes rise.
Football Federation Australia, on the back of the official campaign ‘Where heroes are made’, was planning to launch a Summer activation to invite fans and families to watch the Hyundai A-League and Westfield W-League games during the summer season. With very low budget allocated for creative production, our response was to take existing photography assets of players and transform them into illustration action figures. Summer of Heroes campaign aimed to appeal to families and children with a ‘comic’ illustrative style and elevated players and children as the true heroes.

The creative process started by combining together different photos of players and fans with a “collage” technique. Once the concept was approved by the client, we approached the talented illustrator Mink Couteaux to transform our scamps into illustration.
We delivered 12 individual, bespoke key visuals, one for each team.
The assets were then made available to the teams to use for their own promotional advertising during the Summer campaign.
